I’m so glad you’re here!

Melissa Pinn, a therapist for anxious families in California

I’m a licensed therapist (and imperfect mom of 2) who is deeply passionate about helping overwhelmed parents step out of self-doubt and gain the practical, science-backed tools needed to navigate childhood anxiety and OCD with confidence.

The Heart Behind My Work

I do this work because I see what anxious parents are carrying and I believe you deserve a path out of survival mode. You deserve to rediscover the joy of parenting, reclaim time for your own passions, and get back to living a full, vibrant life.

  • Because anxiety and OCD impacts the whole family, not just the child.

  • Because parents need support, not pressure or judgment.

  • Because you shouldn’t have to choose between helping your child and taking care of yourself.

Most parents who reach out to me are exhausted from trying to reason with worry - constantly reassuring, offering logic, and repeating "it's going to be okay" while anxiety keeps demanding more. My goal is to give you real-world, evidence-based tools (like SPACE and ERP) and direct, compassionate support.

Real Stories, Real Change

Many families come to me feeling stuck They’ve tried telling themselves or their kids to “just think positive” or “take a deep breath,” only to find that anxiety and overwhelm still take over.

In our work together, parents often discover how to strengthen distress tolerance for the whole family.

What You Can Expect From Me

Anxiety and OCD doesn’t just show up in your child - it shows up in the whole family system. The good news? When parents learn how to respond differently, real change happens.

You don’t need to be perfect. You need tools that interrupt the patterns.

Here’s what I bring to the table:

  • Real, honest support-real talk, without blame or pressure

  • Strategies that break anxiety’s or OCD’s rules-and stop feeding the cycle

  • Tools that build leadership, not perfection-so you can guide with confidence

  • Connection that doesn’t cater to worry-because empathy doesn’t mean accommodation

We won’t just talk about the worry, we’ll focus more on what you’re actually going to do about it. You already spend enough energy replaying every moment and overthinking the "why." Our work together isn't about endlessly analyzing the problem-it’s about giving you a clear, step-by-step game plan so you know exactly what to do when anxiety spikes.
