For therapy clients within the state of California I am in network with only MHN. If you have a different health plan with out of network benefits, I will submit insurance claims on your behalf to help you get reimbursed as quickly as possible. If you are out of network and would like to you out of network benefits I can submit claims on your behalf, at no cost to you. This means you won't have to submit superbills, I will take care of that. This helps you get reimbursed as quickly as possible.

If you have out-of-network benefits, PPO plans can cover anywhere from 50-80% of the session cost. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at time of appointment.
Call your insurance provider to get an individualized estimate of what your costs would be if you use your out-of-network benefits. Call the number on the back of your health insurance card and ask them the below questions:
Are outpatient mental health services included in my coverage?
Does my plan cover visits to out-of-network providers?
What is the coverage amount for each therapy session?
How does my deductible apply to out-of-network services?
How much of my deductible has been met this year?
Does my health insurance plan cover a certain number of therapy sessions?
Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?
What is the typical timeframe for processing and reimbursing claims?

I’m located in central San Diego

I can only offer therapy services in California as that is where I am licensed.

Before scheduling a therapy session, I do a free 15 minute intro call with all potential new clients. This gives us the chance to get to know each other. Here’s what you can expect:
I’ll ask you about why you’re seeking therapy or parent support?
I’ll tell you a bit about myself and my approach as a therapist
You can ask me any questions that I didn’t cover
We’ll talk about rates, insurance, availability, etc.
-
If we both decide we're a good fit after our intro call, we'll schedule our first appointment. I'll send you a couple of quick forms to complete before our first session. If we are doing virtual sessions I'll also send you a link for our video calls that you can use every week.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
